Symptoms of Psychosis

Psychosis symptoms involve lot many factors such as hallucinations, delusions, depressions and many others. These all when combined cause changes in the personality and the behaviour of a person and most of the time they won’t be aware of any such changes. Just by mild symptoms of any such factors you cannot jump to the conclusion that the person is suffering from psychosis.

If it stays persistent then the person may start getting delusion and thereby may suffer from a brain disorder such as schizophrenia. The person starts seeing things and hearing talks which others cannot and this is not same as when having hallucinations. For confirming psychosis verity that these are hallucinations and not any nightmares.

Delusions differ a lot from hallucinations and difficult to determine because they differ according to a person’s beliefs. Delusions can be paranoia in which a person firmly beliefs on the things which do exist or are not realistic. When a person goes through emotional and mental stress they may contribute to psychosis. The person’s behaviour also starts altering as a part of psychosis symptoms. The person can become aggressive and anxious due to fear.

Those who suffer from these symptoms are not aware that they are suffering from psychosis, family and friends around them can know about these symptoms and can help them out by taking them to a psychiatrist. Treatment for psychosis is more of a therapeutic which brings out the thoughts, beliefs and fears of the sufferer. Proper care, treatment and support can help a person regain conscious self. In certain cases it cannot be cured completely but person adjust to residues of the psychosis post the treatment.
