Individuals who suffer from schizophrenia get hallucinations. The
common hallucinations are auditory or visual but they can also involve
other senses like taste, touch and smell. These hallucinations occur
without any actual stimulus occurring in the environment. The
schizophrenic notice things as very real even though they are not real.

that involve seeing the unseen. These people see things which are not
really present. They can see clear, vague or distorted images of

For diagnosis of schizophrenia the person should have symptoms for at
least 6 months including hallucinations, apathy and speech problem.
Hallucinations can be treated effectivelywith proper medications and
support. But some medications can cause severe side effects. Proper
diet, meditation, guidance and family support can help individuals to
overcome these hallucinations along with medications. In some
individuals medications can completely eliminate the hallucinations
while in some they may not.
